Prototypes
Motion is a little strange.
We got excited - maybe a little too excited, and we developed a large number of prototypes in a one year period. We are in a unique position to share a lot of future plans before having them, well, planned.
Since that first marathon year, we've been pumping out probably 2-3 more a year. Whenever creativity or inspiration strikes, Jeremy and David start sketching. Motion doesn't make yoyos because it is a business. We make yoyos because we are excited and inspired. We try to make designs that are actually unique to us. We don't worry about what is trending or selling at the moment. And every time we draw a yoyo, we start with a blank slate - even "2.0" models. The dome, the cuts, the grooves, everything is different on each model.
This page showcases each prototype that Motion has produced. There is on guarantee that they will all get a production run, but you can share a small part of our journey with us below.
Positional
A monometal version of Accelerated. Position is the second integral of acceleration.
Centrifugal 2.0
A redesign of a crowd-favorite, Centrifugal. This yoyo features design elements from a lot of other yoyos we've produced so far. We find that with each new yoyo it becomes even more of an amalgumation of the previous designs, and yet, a different thing entirely.
Decelerated
A D-bearing version of Accelerated
Perpendicular
An inner-ring bimetal organic with huge aesthetics.
Levitated
A redesigned, smaller version of Elevated (this render shows a comparison between Levitated and Elevated).
Projectile
A monometal elevated, with extra chonk. Signature yoyo for Bear.
Fluid
A stainless steel monometal, with inspiration from Accelerated and Harmonic
Angular
An ultra-wide version of Kinetic.
Synaptic
First prototype featuring the "double wall".
Dynamic
Second revision prototype, released to the public in a limited 25-unit run. More to come!
Centripetal
A monometal version of Centrifugal.
Activated
A fast, stable, competition V and fantastic all-arounder.
KineTic
A bimetal (TiSS) version of Kinetic.
Elevated
A powerful, stable, fast, and unique bimetal.
Parallel
An undersized D-bearing yoyo with beautiful aesthetics. The little brother of Perpetual, and the last of the triplet series of Perpetual-inspired yoyos.
Linear
The economical, absolutely amazing monometal version of our flagship yoyo, Perpetual.
Harmonic
Bimetal outer-ring organic joy.
Accelerated
Inspired by old-school yoyos like the OneDrop Cascade, re-imagined with the Motion design language.
Kinetic
A fast, competition geared bimetal.
Centrifugal
Wedge shaped, smooth and elegant goodness. Crazy power.
Perpetual
The Motion flagship yoyo that continues to reign in our top tier. A hard-H but amazingly comfortable yoyo.
